This article deals with a most important subject in my view and that subject is how to be true to your art whatever that art may be. My art is poetry so I’m going to use this as my example but feel free to apply this article to any art you have a true passion for because I feel it’s universal.

I see so many people who enjoy writing being what I call crossover artists who write in many genres but have no real specialty. I see romance authors or science fiction authors also putting out poetry books claiming to be authors/poets and this to me is troubling.

I am a poet who loves poetry and concentrates only on poetry so this kind of thing when it comes to crossing over I personally find insulting. The people who do this crossing over from genre to genre in my opinion are just trying to get their names seen in as many places as possible in the hope that in one it will stick and someone will see it.

I feel they care little for whatever genre they are writing under and they only care for the press that comes from it. In the music industry you don’t see rappers/country artists so why in the literary world do we see romance/science fiction/poets?

In my opinion the crossovers have no real passion or belief in any one genre so they write in them all and to me it’s disturbing. In my belief they also lessen and take away from the accomplishments of true artists solely dedicated to one genre and one genre alone.

You never see a proctologist/brain surgeon and so you shouldn’t have the fake author/poets of the world that lessen what poets do in the art.

I study karate and I took the time to find a real street effective self defense system of genuine value that is not used for sport or pretty acrobatic shows. I have a passion for the art and I’m true to it not wanting to mix it up with other things like a bad salad. It’s already perfect in every way to me without myself or someone else mixing things in and changing it’s real and effective and valuable origin.

I guess my message to crossovers would be to stop diluting the art we care for by just dabbling in it and then calling yourself a poet because you disgrace real poets by doing that. Take a look at what happened to M.C. Hammer when he went and crossed over from dancing to thug and you’ll understand the phoney light real poets see you in.

Think about having passion and originality for once and be true to your art with emphasis on the part that says your art. Leave ours alone and stop diluting it with your novice work and overblown ego. Be true to your art people.

Once you cross and change an art it ceases to be what it was and it begins to change because of dabblers and crossovers looking for another place to post their names and it sickens me.

If you know your true and real interest is not poetry then leave it to the people who have it as a real and true interest and stick to writing romance or whatever you do because you’re not and never will be a poet.

Jessica Simpson, the daughter of a former Baptist minister and a former Sunday school teacher was born in the suburb of Texas. At the early age of 12 Jessica Simpson started singing in her Baptist choir. During that time, she tried out for the Mickey Mouse Club unsuccessfully. As you may already know, The Mickey Mouse Club was starred with the likes of her fellow Pop singers, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, and Justin Timberland and many others.

Did you know? Jessica Simpson recorded her first album while attending J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas when she surprised the head of a small contemporary Christian record label. Jessica Simpson recorded her first album over three years. Unfortunately, the label flopped and the album was never released. Jessica Simpson was so proud of her album that she forfeited her senior year in order to tour and promote her demo album. Her grandmother bank rolled the project. I believe Jessica named her holiday 2004 album “Rejoyce The Christmas Album” after her grandmother’s name Joyce. Oh yes, she eventually managed to earn her GED. Jessica and her Dad decided to tour with the Christian Youth Conference circuit where she had the chance to perform with the likes of Kirk Franklin, God’s Property and CeCe Winans. After every performance, she sold copies of her album.

Although growing up as a Christian singer, Jessica Simpson’s album landed in the hands of Tommy Mottola of Columbia Records who thought that she had great potential to be a pop singer. So he signed her. Even today, much of her music has some Christian influences.

Jessica Simpson debut album came about late 1999. The album name was “Sweet Kisses” that top 25 of the U.S. Billboard 200 Chart and also made the top forty of the UK charts. I have to say the sold two million copies in the U.S.

“I wanna Love You Forever” platinum single rose to top 5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and the top ten in Canada and the UK.

“Where You Are” a duet with her boyfriend Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees was loved by the radio and became a hit.

“I Think I’m in Love with You” hit top 40 in the U.S. and top 20 in Canada and the UK.

Jessica Simpson also earned some prestigious awards like her 2000 Teen Choice Awards for Choice Breakout Artist. I believe she also won it for her first single “Where are You”.

Did you know? Jessica Simpson appeared on the 98 Degrees video “My Everything”.

In 2001 Jessica Simpson “Irresistible” top ten of the Billboard 200 and top twenty of the Canadian album chart. The album’s sales was only certified gold in the U.S. for selling 500,000 copies. Although the single “Irresistible” reached the top twenty in the U.S., Canada, the UK, and top forty in Australia.

“A Little Bit” was released but did not achieve substantial success. In 2002, Columbia Records released a EP remix album titled This Is the Remix containing electro-dance remixes of Simpson’s biggest hits.

Soon after she married Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson released her third album, “In This Skin” during the summer of 2003. This album premiere in her debut show with her husband Nick Lachey. Again the album was not a huge success. In the Spring of 2004, She hit the charts with a special collector’s edition which peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and the top forty of the UK charts. I believe her wedding to Nick Lachey really helped the success of the album which by the way turn out to be her most successful after selling almost three million copies in the U.S. “With You” the single was a huge hit.

Jessica Simpson made her first major film appearance as Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard in the summer of 2005. The film was number one on the U.S. box-office chart taking a cool over thirty million dollars. She also sang the remake of the film’s soundtrack “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’”.

Jessica Simpson’s track won a People’s Choice Award for Favorite Song from a Movie in early 2006.

Jessica Simpson broke ties with Columbia Records and went on recording with Epic Records her next album “A Public Affair” released the past August.

This is a review of Jessica Simpson’s career. She can be booked through many booking agencies worldwide. I recommend BookingEntertainment.com to Book Jessica Simpson

When used as either conversation starters or simply meant as crowd entertainment; party favors have a place of importance in any occasions that involve seated activity. Sometimes they have a game, toy or noise maker and often they are just snack foods. A party favor can be as basic as fortune cookies. It serves to entertain, feed and spark lively discussion.

What portion of the budget should be spent on party favors? That depends on the importance to be placed on the party favor. The party favor can really be something downloaded from the internet like a zodiac or crossword puzzle. These are great, inexpensive and serve the purpose. These kinds of favors should be scrolled and tied with ribbon and a sharpened pencil should be tucked inside.

Often times more should be spent on the party favors so that they can serve as a small gift for the guests. Then they serve the additional purpose of saying quickly “thanks” for attending. Anytime that there is a group meeting it helps if the party favors are matched to some matter that is germane to group identity.

Little hats with a flourish of ribbon for popular women’s club meetings make good favors. Trinkets or charms that compliment the theme of a club’s efforts are fine. A group which regularly raises money to plant trees and flowers community wide might enjoy charms of gardening tools, for instance.

Formal gatherings often call for more expensive party favors. Disposable cameras are very popular items for wedding receptions. The less expensive sack of grass seed for the after reception showering of the newlyweds is traditional. Mints in decorative holders or candy coated almonds are also among the budget minded options.

Party favors for graduations, holidays, birthdays or anniversaries can all be purchased especially for those occasions.
