Introducing Beerpong As The Newest Party Game

Finding a game that holds the attention of all party goers and produces loads of laughter is rare. However, beerpong may be just the game to do both.
This drinking game has become especially popular at colleges and universities. Since drinking is associated with the party scene anyway, this game helps bring beer and fun together. Guys and girls alike will be able to join in the fun. This is a game no one will care about losing.
The hardest part about playing this game at your party is finding a spot large enough to hold the event. A table the size of a ping pong table will be needed. You will also need room enough to allow spectators to watch the fun unfold. In addition to the table, you will need beer, plastic cups and ping pong balls. A great location for the game to take place is in a backyard or garage. It is inevitable that beer will be spilled, so having the event outside will allow for a mess to occur and make the clean up minimal.
The table set up is basically the same for each game, but the host of the party can adapt the rules if he or she would like. That is one of the great things about this game. The rules are not set in stone. Each side of the table contains 8-10 plastic cups set up in a V-shape. Then they are filled about a third to half way with beer.
Two teams are formed; one for each side of the table. A team will normally consist of about 2-3 players. More can be on a team if you would like. A fun idea is to have each team come up with an original name for themselves. The names can be specific to same sex teams or coed teams and can get quite creative. Again, the host can help decide the guidelines.
The game begins with the two teams taking opposite sides of the table. Taking turns, each team tries to bounce a ball over the table and into the opposing teams cups filled with beer. If they succeed, that opposing team has to drink all the beer within the cup. Game play continues until one side has been forced to drink all the beer from their cups. But the game doesn’t stop there. After the losing team has consumed all the beer on their side, they must then drink the beer remaining on the winner’s side.
The tables used in this game can be purchased commercially. One can even have a table custom made to your own specifications. If you are a person who is handy with tools, you may choose to design and build your own. It isn’t hard to build. Just think ping pong table. You can find further instructions, if needed, on the internet helping you step by step in the construction process.
The best thing about this party game is there are no official rules. Each host can create unique and creative adaptations to the fun as they see fit. Give beerpong a try at your next social gathering and watch the fun unfold. Just remember to always drink responsibly and never drive drunk.
